John is an undergraduate computing student at Queen’s University, specializing in the Computing, Mathematics, and Analysis specialization. He is interested in the application of computer vision models.
In the Simpson Lab, he will be working on developing models for image segmentation of pancreas cancer. Outside of academia, John will be the computer vision lead for Queen’s Autodrive, an autonomous vehicle team for the SAE Autodrive Challenge II, for the 2024-2025 year where he will be improving models and the integration of hardware from other nodes with the Perception stack. He has also been an active design team member for QMind since his first year, where John collaborates and works on implementing research papers on machine learning.
