SPIE Medical Imaging 2015 took place February 21-26 in Orlando FL. It is one of the largest medical imaging conferences.
The Perk Lab had 7 papers, 5 of those from our undergraduates. Unfortunately, the Perk Lab team got snowed in at home in Kingston, with roads closed and flights cancelled. Except Vinyas Harish, our 2nd year BMCO undergraduate, who was in Toronto at the time and managed to sneak out before the storm hit. He missed connections (both ways, as it turned out) and lost his luggage, but he got to Orlando in time. So he stood in for the Perk Lab single-handedly, presented our works in addition to his own paper.
He skillfully presented two podium talks as well. He did a marvelous job – as indicated by the conference chair who emailed us while Vinyas was still leaving the podium.
