- The teaching assistants that we are seeking are for the support of online courses.
- Some training and preparation are needed before the start of the course.
- Candidates must be flexible in terms of availability during online office hours.
- Candidates must be willing to provide students with timely and constructive feedback in OnQ.
- Must have access to the internet and a computer that meets minimum requirements.
- Experience with learning management systems (eg onQ) and videoconferencing software (e.g. Zoom or Adobe Connect) would be an asset.
Contract Hours and Hiring
TA numbers requested are an estimate. ASO will determine the final number of TAs needed closer to the start of term. The hours in the TA contracts, as well as the number of TAs will be determined based on actual course enrolments.
To apply for a TA position:
- Go to the TA Application Portal. You will be prompted by the Queen’s sign-on portal for your netid and password.
- After logging on, provide your name and email to the system.
- Next, go to the “TA applications” tab at the top of the page, select “Provide background”, and provide your background information. Then click “Submit” at the bottom of the page.
- Finally, and only after providing your background and clicking “Submit” on that page, go to the “TA applications” tab, select “Apply”, and indicate the courses to which you are applying. Then click “Submit”.
The system will tell you when your application is complete.
Deadline is March 18, 2024. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
You must have a Canadian bank account to be hired as a TA. Do not apply if you are on internship.
