An interactive, AI-powered, visualization and decision making platform for COVID-19
Overview
COVID-19 has spread around the planet and forced billions of people to stay home. Researchers have reported around 25 percent to 50 percent of people are asymptotic which impose huge complications on the society and health centres. Chest X-ray or CT is one of the diagnostic methods for COVID-19 infection which can be effectively used for screening. Advances in machine learning and deep learning have made it possible to embed the knowledge of experienced physician/radiologist into computational models and have shown state-of-the-art performance in various image analysis tasks including computer-assisted detection, diagnosis, and prognosis of several forms of disease. However, models are not fully integrated with the current standard of care in clinics. We have previously developed http://prostatecancer.ai which enables deployment of AI models in a web-browser while simultaneously providing standard image viewing and reporting schemes.
The goal of this project is to launch a similar web-application for COVID-19 to enable AI detection and diagnosis with Chest X-ray or CT imaging. The AI component of the project will be developed by another student, and you will be working on the deployment and development of the web application.
